I really enjoyed doing gamififcation because we got to pick what we wanted to do and it lets us be more creative. I also liked it because we got to be more independent and on our own. I took all of my artwork and put it on one sheet of paper to show what I all did. I also like how we can blog because we can show other people our projects without actually showing them.
For this project i made a bowl on the wheel. This was my first time and it was a lot harder then it looks. I like how the lines are blue and the res is a brown an. I also like the brown color and how it changes color and how shiny it is. The one thing that was the hardest for me when I was throwing on the wheel was getting it centered and making it sick to the bat. Once I got the clay to stick I got the hang of it pretty fast. The way i got the lines in the bowl was with a fork. I think that my bowl turned out very good. Before I spun on the wheel I watched YouTube videos below is one that I found useful to the centering process. I liked doing printmaking the first time so I did it it again. But this time I did a Chicago Bears logo. I am very happy how it cam out. I like the lines on the outside and how the blue does not line up perfectly. I would recommend this project anyone. It is easy to get the hang of and fast to do. At the bottom of the text there is a video I would strongly suggest you to watch it. What was your main take away from Nicky's family? I think the take from Nicky's story is to help somebody out because they may not be able to do it themselves. What message from Nicky's family touched you or connected with you? I think the most touching part was when the mom did not want to give away her daughter but she knew it would be best for her daughter so she gave up a big part of her life. What was the best part of your day? I liked learning about how they made glass and Jordan's background with glass and how excited she is to take off with her career. What did you learn? I did not know that she was the only person that was doing this and it is very cool how she is just in Waterloo What did you like best about the tour? The tour was cool cause I got to see the big pieces of glass and all the machines they use to make it. What did you feel like made Jordan successful? I think Jordan what made Jordan very successful was her hard work and the help from her father. Other comments and thoughts about the tour. I think that would be so exciting to be her because her Career is very close to take off and she will be making a lot of money and it looks like so much fun to make glass and get paid doing it. i am very proud how my 2d project turned out because of the BACKGROUND and the chicago bears logo. the most difficult thing was making the logo because it was hard to get it just right. i learned that adding a BACKGROUND to picture really makes it pop. i really liked doing this because i got to be creative.
What did you enjoy about this project: I liked taking the photos and then coloring them on the iPad. What do you wish you could change: I wish I could change my textures by putting it in ArtRage. Tell me about the photo choices and why you selected them: The reason I picked these photos is because I wanted something simple and things that we see everyday. What did you learn about the app ArtRage: I did not use the app ArtRage because it was not working for me. It kept crashing and turning my iPad off. What would Andy Goldsworthy say about your work: I think that he would be pleased with my work because I used real pictures and turned it into a painting on my iPad.
